RSPB Visitor Centre

The RSPB Visitor Centre comprised extension and refurbishment of the existing RSPB Visitor Centre building at Belfast Lough along with provision of two new viewing hides, an enlarged viewing gallery and associated pathways, site works and construction of visitor parking facilities.

Belfast Window on Wildlife (WoW), is a single-storey, steel-framed, low-profile building with extensive glazed frontage. Facilities include a community room, toilets, offices and visitor information areas. The internal works included demolition, construction and structural alterations, mechanical and electrical upgrades, decoration and fit-out works. All works were carried out in and around a live wildlife sanctuary, requiring careful programming, sympathetic handling of the works and close liaison with RSPB staff.
