Queen’s University Belfast Ashby Tower Refurbishment

The Ashby Tower is a 1960s listed engineering facility within the Queen’s University of Belfast estate. The project involved the refurbishment of existing floors, together with minor alterations to the existing basement. Significant upgrades were carried out to mechanical & electrical services provision.

Upper floors now comprise a new lecture theatre and teaching spaces together with high specification offices. Externally, curtain walling to the north elevation and at ground floor entrance was replaced.

The design and layout of the refurbishment works were developed in cognisance of the live environment, with a view to limiting disturbance to the building fabric and so minimising disruption.
