The scheme was delivered in two phases and the school remained in occupation throughout. Phase one involved design and construction of a state of the art, 21 class base primary school arranged across two storeys and extending to 4,500sqm. The second phase involved demolition of the existing primary school building, construction of a new, 2 class base nursery school and sitewide hard and soft landscaping, roads and parking.
The new Holy Evangelists’ Primary School, Dunmurry was delivered under a phased programmed with the first phase, completed in May 2021, providing a two-storey, steel-framed, 21-class-base primary school built on the site of the former school premises with two multi-purpose halls, a nurture suite, separate dining hall, and school meals kitchen. The second phase was completed in November 2021, includes demolition of former school, a double nursery unit with school meals server, additional car parking and MUGA sports pitch.
The scheme was delivered under NEC 3 Main Option A and achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ accreditation.
